Corona offers the following products for both Gas and Electricity. Please be mindful of these when selecting a price on the energyengine®

  • Standard, Fully fixed, AMR prices available – Non-AMR meters are to be sold on the AMR prices
  • Standard product (fully pass-through) for 3 months to 5 years.
  • Fully fixed product (non pass-through) for 3 months to 3 years.

Corona will accept IGT and shippers meters.

Corona will accept contracts for 01 and 02 profile classes, but proof of business and usage must be provided.

AMR meters incur an additional £4.16 per month charge on top of the AMR product standing charge.

Letter of Authorities and Direct Debit Mandates must be submitted alongside all Corona contracts.

Acquisition contracts can be sold up to 365 days ahead via the matrix.

Renewal and COT contracts must be priced via the corporate tender channel.

Billing & Payment

Invoices are issued monthly and the variable Direct Debit is collected 10 days after the invoice is produced.

If the customer signs up to Direct Debit Payment terms and then either cancel the Direct Debit or does not provide a Direct Debit Mandate they will incur an additional 2p increase on their unit rate.

AMR meters incur an additional £4.16 per month charge on top of the AMR product standing charge.

Change of Tenancy

COT’s need to be accompanied by a valid LOA, COT form and lease agreement/solicitor’s letter. COT contracts must be priced via our corporate tendering channel.

Terminations

Terminations must be submitted a minimum of 30 days prior to the current contract end date. Where termination is not received 30 days before the end date, the customer is automatically renewed on the terms specified in the renewal letter.

LOA Requirements

LOAs must be on PDF and be on company letterheaded paper.

Renewal

A renewal letter will be sent to the customer 60 days before the contract end date confirming the prices and terms for the next contract period.

Where termination is not received 30 days before the end date, the customer is automatically renewed on the terms specified in the renewal letter.

Credit & Business Acceptance

Corona Energy credit check every acquisition customer using Experian, their criteria is below;

Anything which has a score of 50 or above, will be accepted with any contract length.

A score between 0-14 is an immediate credit failure and will need to be resold with another supplier.

For scores between 15-19, the maximum contract term that can be sold is 36 months and must be on Direct Debit. A Direct Debit payment will be taken every 10 days.

Corona will also add a credit premium to the unit rate as per the below:

  • score of 15 – additional 0.5 p/kwh
  • score of 16 – additional 0.4 p/kwh
  • score of 17 – additional 0.3 p/kwh
  • score of 18 – additional 0.2 p/kwh
  • score of 19 – additional 0.1 p/kwh

Scores between 20-39 will also have payment taken every 10 days and will be limited to a maximum term of 36 months.

For scores between 40-49, there are two levels.

For a contract term of 36 months or under, Corona will take payment 10 days after the invoice has been produced.

For a contract term over 36 months, Corona will take payment 10 days after the invoice has been produced.

If no DD details are provided at the point of sale Corona will add 0.1 to the unit rate sold on the contract.

For new companies or sole traders, Corona will take payment every 10 days, and contracts are limited to a maximum contract term of 36 months.

For all paper contracts with a Direct Debit Mandate Corona has requested original copies of both documents to be scanned and attached as a PDF.

Corona will not accept contracts or Direct Debit Mandates that have been scanned, printed, and then re-scanned. PDFs must be scanned copies of original documents.

Corona will not accept contracts for Pubs, Bars or Clubs.

Contract Requirements

Contracts can be accepted in any format (Verbal/DocuSign/PDF)

All paper contracts and Direct Debit Mandates must be scanned and attached as a PDF. PDFs must be scanned copies of original documents. All Direct Debit Mandates must be submitted as PDFs (including those that support verbal contracts).

A valid Direct Debit Mandate and LOA must be submitted with all contracts.

The business name and business address must match companies house exactly. Corona will not accept abbreviations or symbols that differ from Companies House e.g. ‘&’ instead of ‘and’, or ‘Ltd’ instead of Limited.

Business Registration numbers must also match Companies House.

Site Addresses must match industry databases (Xoserve / ECOEs). Where these are not matching these will need to be updated by the current supplier before the contract can be processed.
